It is hard to believe you are with the angels. As a classmate, we spent some fun years together. I send sympathies to your family in GA and ND. John Sagsveen 6/13/2012 9:04:53 AM Sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I went to school with her in Lansford, ND. She was a year younger and I remember her as a vary nice person. I talked with her at our school reunion two years ago and am wish I could have talked with her more. My condolences. Brenda Roberts Specketer 1/23/2013 12:20:12 PM Kathy and Steve, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I'm also sorry to say I hadn't spoken with her in years. As the matriarchs and patriachs of a family pass, the cousins just don't stay in touch. My husband Bruce (deceased) and your dad and their cousin Tommy were apparently inseparable as kids and had quite some tales to tell. I first met your mom and dad when Bruce and I were dating over 40 years ago and enjoyed many hours of visiting and card-playing with them. Please email me if you have a chance. Perhaps we can arrange a get-together of the children and grandchildren of Bruce Roberts, Steve Rentz, and Tommy Lennett. I will keep you in my prayers, and I apologize for being so tardy in sending my sympathies.
Linda Jean Otten Rentz, 68, of Hoschton, GA passed away on May 27, 2012. Linda was raised in Lansford, North Dakota. Upon graduation from high school, she moved to California where she met and married her husband, Steve. They relocated to Georgia where they raised their children, Kathy and Steve, Jr. While raising her family, Linda was a successful real estate agent and also worked for many years at Brookwood High School as a bookkeeper. When she decided to retire, Linda lived a very full and active life. She was a dedicated member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and participated in many volunteer roles including Meals on Wheels, Northeast Georgia Medical Center and the Village at Deaton Creek to name a few. She was a kind and generous soul, always willing to help others. Linda found a love for travel and took several memorable trips with some dear friends over the past several years. She also had quite a competitive side playing many different card games and bocce ball with her friends and neighbors. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking them to movies, the park, baking cookies and reading books to them or cheering them on as they participated in various activities. Linda was predeceased by her husband Steve. In addition to her son and daughter, Linda is survived by her mother, Lois Otten, brothers John Otten and William Otten (Janet), her sister, Karen Wall, son-in-law Chris Becker, daughter-in-law Kristin Rentz, beloved grandchildren, Lee Adams (Samantha), Cody Adams, Lonnie Roland, Chandler and Katherine Rentz, great-grandchildren Hailey and Katie Adams, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a reception following. A private burial will be on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, GA.
