Pauline (Polly) Eller Steingetter, age 88, of Snellville, Georgia met her Savior peacefully in her home at 1390 Willow Bend Drive on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Steingetter and the father of her children Ralph Lee Martin of Grayson, Georgia. She was one of fourteen children born to Caney Eller and Lona Chastain Eller of Clarkesville, GA. “Meme” as she was known in the family grew up on the family farm before attending the Habersham Technical School where she met Ralph Martin whom she married. In 1948, they moved to Doraville where she lived for fifty years in the family home. She worked for Georgia Power Co. in Atlanta where she retired after twenty-nine years in 1983. She was a devoted member of Doraville First Baptist Church and River of Life Church. She was a tireless worker and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home, 4400 South Lee Street, Buford, GA on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Paul officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. She is survived by her sister, June Purser; three children, Ann Martin Wolak and husband Frank, Dacula, GA, Michael L. and Anita Martin, Loganville, GA and Paula J. Foster, Grayson, GA; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
