Beverly Ann Clancy

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Clancy, (Bev, Bubbles, Mom, Nannie, Grandma, and Gigi) 88 of Buford, Georgia. She passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 25, 1937, Beverly lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and deep devotion to her family and faith. She was preceded in death by her Loving husband of 61 years, Thomas Clancy, parents, Cecilia Hall and Thomas Russo; her brothers, Thomas S. Russo and Larry Russo; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Beverly is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law: Maureen and Lewis Glover of Acworth, Georgia; Kathleen and Robert Lang of Alpharetta, Georgia; Kelly and Scott Walker of Flowery Branch, Georgia; and Patricia Hobby of Suwanee, Georgia. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Linda Hyman; sister-in-law Kathy Hodorowski, brother-in-law John Eskau, Sister-in-law Jean Russo, and sisters Cindy King and Leona Weiner. Beverly leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Kelly Prescott (Jason), Bobby Glover (Kristen), Charlie Lang, Bryan Lang (Megan), Amanda Hobby (Brian), Landon Hobby, Jessica Hobby, Taylor Walker (Ben), Patrick Walker, Ethan Lang, and Emmy Prescott. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members. Beverly was raised in Jamaica Plain and Salisbury, Massachusetts, and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Newburyport in 1956, where she was known as both a talented basketball player and cheerleader. She was also a dedicated and talented pairs roller skater, whether training or competing, Beverly brought grace and dedication to the roller rink. Beverly later became a nurse and devoted 57 years to caring for others, viewing nursing not just as a job, but as a calling. Beverly was a devoted fan of Braves baseball, a passion that began in childhood as she cheered alongside her father for the Boston Braves. Her loyalty followed the team through its moves, first to the Milwaukee Braves after she married her husband Tom and relocated to Milwaukee, and later to the Atlanta Braves when the family settled in Atlanta in 1970. It was in Atlanta that Beverly began working in labor and delivery at Piedmont Hospital, where she took great joy in helping welcome many newborns for Braves players and their wives. In gratitude for her care and dedication, she and Tom were gifted tickets to Braves home games for many years. Her lifelong enthusiasm reached a memorable peak when the Braves opened Truist Park. While attending a game there, Beverly was honored and announced as one of the longest-tenured Braves fans, celebrating more than 70 years of unwavering support. Her faith was also central to her life. Beverly served for 20 years as a dedicated catechist at Prince of Peace parish, working alongside her daughter Kelly to share the Catholic faith with children and help prepare many for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. In retirement, Beverly remained active through Silver Sneakers in Buford, GA where she made many friends. Beverly cherished the camaraderie of her classmates, often sharing laughter and friendship over post-workout Dairy Queen lunches. Beverly touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. The family will gather with friends on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, 4400 S Lee St, Buford, GA 30518. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6439 Spout Springs Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be at a later date at The Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
