Bobbie Nell Dorsey

Ms. Bobbie Nell Dorsey, age 87 of Buford, GA, transitioned to the greater life on November 14, 2023. She was born on April 22, 1936, in Gainesville, GA to the late L.V. and Mamie Young. She joined Cross Plains Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and continued to serve until recent years. During her journey of life, she was a surgical tech at Gwinnett Medical Center. Once she retired from Gwinnett Medical Center, she spent her time creating memories with her family, word search puzzles, singing hymns, reading scriptures, playing bingo, and attending all the senior activities at the Buford Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Dorsey; her daughter Sally Faye Dorsey; her parents LV and Mamie Young; her sisters Dorothy Fields, Clara Young, and Betty (Claude) Wilkins; her brothers Joesephus, Frank, Billy, and Raymond Young. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her daughter, Sylvia Nell Dorsey; her sons and daughter in law Timothy H and Cheryl Dorsey, and Kenneth Dorsey all of Buford, GA, her eight grandchildren Melinda Brooks, Aelicia (David) Cook, Roderick Dorsey, Derrick Dorsey, Jamerris (Marica) Head, Jamorris Head, Alanna Sadler, and Audrey (Elijah) Brown; 14 great grandchildren; Destiny Brooks, Daisja Cook, Jaylon Drain, Katlin Drain, Janiya Robinson, Chamar Robinson, Carmyn Sadler, Ali Head, Khalil Head, Camdyn Holloway, DJ Holloway, Emersyn Brown, Noah Holloway, and Easton Brown; her sisters, Mattie Hughey, Carolyn Strickland, and Pearlie Mullins, her brother Harvey Young; her sister in laws, Patricia Rogers, Cynnie Carson, Annie(LB) Clark, and Zella Dowdy, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. She was a sweet and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. She will truly be missed. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Cross Plains Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA, with Pastor Scottie Randolph officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
