Charles "Chuck" Allen Pinney

Chuck was born on May 30, 1959, to Robert and Dorothy Pinney in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Shorecrest High School in 1977, he spent time on the Olympic Peninsula working for the Washington State Conservation Corps. In September 1979 he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and earned the rank of Sergeant, E-5. He served in the 1stMarDiv LSSO at Camp Pendleton, CA and in the 3rdMarDiv LSSO in Okinawa, Japan. Upon his discharge in June 1983, he ventured cross country landing in Lincoln, Nebraska where he met his future wife, Debbie. After years of a long-distance relationship, he moved to Nebraska and began working for Alltel where after three months he was transferred to Atlanta, GA. He eventually moved to Los Angeles, CA as a Field Sales Rep for Alltel’s Southwestern region. In 1989, Chuck and Debbie were married and began their life in California. By 1992 they were ready to move to Georgia where Chuck worked as an inside sales rep. He held various positions with Alltel until their merger with Verizon where he helped with the transition in 2009. Chuck has spent the last 12 years working for Hall County Government as a senior buyer and purchasing supervisor. While working for Hall County he also worked for two years as a 911 dispatcher. He will be greatly missed by his coworkers and Hall County family. Chuck took great pride and joy in helping his family, friends, and Sugar Hill Community. You could always count on a generous spirit, a sense of humor, and a story or two to pass the time. He leaves behind his wife Debbie of 33 years; daughter, Valarie Stallings, Escondido, CA; siblings Ken Pinney, Washington; Mary Pinney Wittman, Renton, WA; Darlene Pinney and Ren Naillon, Kennewick, WA; Kathleen Pinney, Shoreline, WA; grandchildren Rachel Frey and Sydney Stallings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6439 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 with a reception to follow the Mass at the church. The Funeral Service will be live streamed at: https://popfb.org/livestream/ starting at 11:15 am. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Fire Rescue Warehouse, 3144 Gillsville Hwy., Gainesville, GA 30507. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington on July 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
