Charles F. Kennedy, Jr.

Mr. Charles 'Chuck' Francis Kennedy, of Hoschton, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 25, 2019. He was born on May 25, 1949 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Charles F & Mary K Kennedy. Chuck was a graduate of Elizabeth Prep School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Majored in Business Administration. Essex County College, Newark, NJ majored in Police Science. He was recognized as "Outstanding Young Man of the Year" and involved as Vice Chairman of Union County Young Democrats. In his professional career, He served his community as an elected leader for several years in various positions in the Elizabeth and Union City, New Jersey areas. These positions included, but not limited to the following: Assistant Criminal Justice Planner, Board - Commissioner of Charter Study (1973); Councilman at Large (1976); Board of Canvassers' of Union City; Democratic Committeeman for Polling Branch and 9th District; Local Representative of Democratic Party; Policeman's Benevolent Association in Elizabeth, N.J.; Director of Operations, Union County Sheriff's Office, Aide to Executive Board of Charles Evans Shure Construction Company, Investigator Department of Consumer Affairs. Councilman At Large City of Elizabeth, NJ. Commissioner Alcoholic Beverage Control City of Elizabeth NJ. Later in real estate, as well as Security for Lee Memorial Health Systems in Ft. Myers, Florida. Recognized for his expertise and leadership, Chuck was often a keynote guest speaker in his community, county and state. He was a member of the Lions Club and Kiwanis Club, and was Vice President of Make a Wish Foundation in Elizabeth, N.J. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles F Kennedy Sr, & Mary Elward Kennedy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna, their children: daughter - Jodi (and Brent) Maddox, son - Josh (and Carla) Spain, and their 7 grand-children: Colton Maddox, Chloe (Cody) McNeely, Chandler Maddox, Charlsie Maddox (Nicolette Powell), Aryn Spain, Andrew Spain, and Alexis Spain. An avid Golfer, Chuck enjoyed playing golf anywhere any time with friends. He and his wife-Donna stayed active enjoying the Floridian lifestyle. Day to day, he took pride in taking care of their Shih Tzu Puppy Dog - Bentley, Cooking, and living his best life with the love of his life - Donna whom he loved and adored along with their kids and grand-kids. He also enjoyed Reading, Frank Sinatra and all the oldies in music, as well as day trading in the Stock Market. A gentle, charismatic man, he was known by his family and friends for his quick wit, infectious smile, and kind, compassionate spirit. A Celebration of Life Gathering of Family and Friends will be held October 12, 2019 beginning at 6:00 P.M at the home of Chuck and Donna Kennedy in Hoschton, Georgia
