Charles Wesley Williams, Sr.

Mr. Charles Wesley Williams Sr. was born December 25, 1933 in Culloden GA. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was the son of the late Wesley Williams and Corene (Evans) Williams. He was preceded in death by Vera E Brown-sister, Eugene Williams- brother and Charles W Williams Jr-son. Charles joined New Macedonia Baptist Church in Culloden, GA at an early age where he served as a faithful member and deacon, for many years. In his early years Charles was a member of a Gospel Quartet, he has always had a love for music. In 1982 he joined Christ Temple, in Macon GA, where he worshiped his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until his illness would not allow him to attend. He received his education in the Monroe County Public School System. Charles was married to the late Carolyn Ashley Williams for 25 years. He was a family man that taught his children to love, by the way he loved. After high school Charles joined the United States Army. Following his discharge from the Army he worked for Macon Iron Works, before going to work at Robins Air Force Base where he retired after 25 years of service in 1984. Charles was an active member of DAV Chapter 50 for many years where he served as Commander. During his years as an active member he ensured veterans received the necessary support from the community and government services. Charles never met a stranger, if you allowed him the opportunity to share a word with you, he left a lasting impression. He leaves to mourn; four sons; Kenneth Williams Sr. (Yolanda), Anthony Williams, Kenneth Rawls, of Macon, GA; Alex Williams Sr. (Stephanie), of Beaufort, South Carolina (Parris Island) , two daughters; Myrtice Torres (Jose), Lawrenceville, GA and Charlene Cochran (Daron), Perry, GA; Daughter-in-law Edith Williams of Lawton OK; Eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; Sister-in-laws, Gloria Hike Janice Bryant (Robert) of Macon, GA; Brother-in-law Steve Ashley of Macon, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Life's Celebration Service will be held Monday, July 21, 2014, at 12PM, Christ Temple All Cultures Ministries, 3112 Hollis Road, Macon, GA 31204. Family will receive friends Saturday July 19, 2014, between 5-8PM at 3447 Kingsbury Dr. Macon, GA 31204.
