Christopher "Chris" P. Hoffman, Sr.

Christopher "Chris" Hoffman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and follower of Christ, passed away on March 25, 2024, after bravely battling lung cancer at his home in Winder, Georgia. Born in Chicago, Chris's life was a symphony of passions and dedication. In his later years, his love for God was the cornerstone of his being, shaping his character and guiding his actions. Chris was not just a man of faith but also a man of many talents and hobbies. His fingers danced effortlessly on the strings of his beloved guitar, weaving melodies that echoed his joy and passion for music. When he wasn't strumming chords, Chris could be found casting lines into serene waters, enjoying peaceful moments fishing, a hobby that connected him deeply with nature and with his grandson, Chance. His love for adventure led him to explore the open roads on motorcycles and fast cars. The police in Hall and neighboring counties will miss him! Chris also found joy in the strategic game of pool, showcasing his skill and enjoying friendly competition at the VFW, with friends and family. Professionally, Chris excelled as a supervisor cable installer, utilizing his leadership skills and technical knowledge to ensure quality service. He also spent many years driving a truck making local deliveries of feed and lumber and often shared stories of the famous movie stars he met during deliveries. His greatest joy came from his family. He spent 21 fulfilling years with his beloved wife Sandy Lane, raising three wonderful children and creating cherished memories filled with laughter, love, and shared adventures. During Sandy's extended illness, Chris stood by her side, providing care and comfort until her passing in 2012, a testament to his unwavering love and commitment. In mid-2021, Chris found renewed purpose and faith when he met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which led him to search for a partner who shared his Christian values. Chris found his "sweet face," Carolyn, on christianmingle.com in December 2021. Their shared faith blossomed into a beautiful relationship, and they were united in marriage on April 24, 2022, embarking on a journey of love, companionship, and mutual devotion. Chris Hoffman's legacy is one of faith, love, resilience, and joy. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chris's spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart deeply loved. Preceding Chris in death were his father Elbert "Bud" Hoffman, his beloved wife Sandy Lane Hoffman, and his son Christopher Hoffman, Jr. He is survived by his loving mother Sandra J. Hoffman, his devoted wife Carolyn, his daughters Autumn (and her husband, Taylor) Samples and Samantha Hoffman, stepdaughter Kathryn (and her husband, Youssef) Salimi, and cherished grandchildren Chance Savage, Caleb and Melanie Miller, and Faris Salimi. He also leaves behind many cousins, close friends who were like family, and a community touched by his kindness and spirit. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00pm at Flat Creek Baptist Church, 5504 Flat Creek Rd, Gainesville, GA 30504 followed by a visitation with the family.
