Dawn Pugh Gober

Dawn Pugh Gober, age 60 of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Sunday, August 28. She was preceded in death by her father, George Olton Pugh, and brother, Michael Lamar Pugh, both of Sugar Hill. She is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Lindsay and Jody Davis, Sugar Hill, GA, and her son, Jerry Thomas Gober II, Sugar Hill, GA; her grandchildren, Kaylie Davis and Kinley Davis, Sugar Hill, GA; mother and step-father, Kathleen Pugh Burel and Winston Burel, Sugar Hill, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, George Pugh, Buford, GA and Barry and Cindy Pugh, Suwanee, GA, and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dawn P. was born December 18, 1955 in Buford, GA. She was a 1973 honor graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA where she was a class officer, participated in the FHA, ran track, played basketball, and was Miss North Gwinnett 1972. Dawn P. was an active member of First Baptist Church Sugar Hill where she played the organ for 35 years and taught Sunday School for 40 years as well as sang in the choir. Dawn P. worked at the Buford Medical Clinic, Duluth Middle School, Georgia Power Company district office, Riverside Cabinet Shop, and Carbonics Industries before becoming a successful realtor in 1996 with Norton Agency in Buford. She joined Re-max in 1999 and eventually co-owned Re-Max Five Star with Bill Reed. Dawn P. was also an active volunteer with the City of Sugar Hill Downtown Development Authority, where she served as chairman and co-chairman throughout the revitalization of the downtown area, and she was recently honored by the city creating the Dawn P. Gober Community Plaza behind City Hall. Dawn P. was active in Kiwanis and the American Cancer Society, loved spending time with her friends and family by her pool, and was an avid tennis player. In lieu of flowers the family asks you make a donation in honor of Dawn P. Gober to the North Gwinnett Relay For Life Team, American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway Suite 260, Duluth, GA 30097. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31 from 12 - 3 and 5 - 9 as well as Thursday, September 1 from 11 - 12:45 at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 1 at 3:00 pm at Sugar Hill Church. Dawn P. will lie in-state from 2 - 2:45 at the church.
