Donald Renwick Odell III

Donald Renwick “Wick” Odell, III, aged 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Braselton, GA, surrounded by his family. He is the eldest son of Cornelia “Neilie” (Heffernan) Odell and the late Donald Renwick Odell, Jr. Wick married Jennifer Dick in 2013 in North Conway, NH. They were devoted to each other for 24 years. Wick was born in New Rochelle, NY, 1959. Growing up in Marcellus, NY, Wick graduated from Marcellus High School, attended Cayuga Community College, and graduated from SUNY Brockport, earning a degree in Business Administration. He was active in wrestling, judo, the Syracuse Harlequin Rugby Club, and Model UN. Following in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, Wick worked for many years in the family brick business, selling throughout New York and Pennsylvania. For the last 30 years, he worked as an independent sales representative of architectural masonry products in Georgia, Florida and surrounding states. Recently, Wick was a lifeguard at the Bogan Park Aquatic Center in Buford, GA, where he took his lifeguard duties seriously and enjoyed interacting with patrons and co-workers. Whether sitting on a beach soaking up the sunshine or watching deer, birds and other animals in his backyard, Wick enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He was an avid reader of history, poetry, sports and politics. He was passionate about physical fitness – swimming, running, hiking, weightlifting. For 30 years, Wick was a boxing enthusiast, training and coaching early on at Eagle Boxing & Kickboxing in Lawrenceville, GA, and more recently at Full Throttle Fitness and MMA in Gainesville, GA. Wick lived his life with humor, love, mischief and humility. Halloween was his favorite time of the year, going all out with decorations inside and outside his home. He was known as the Chairman of the Fun Uncle Club, taking pride in “breaking the rules” with his nieces and nephews, and showing them how to make silly faces. Wick’s devotion to his family and friends was endless. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer, and mother, Neilie, siblings David Odell, Carolyn Sirera and Christine DiNovo, father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Dr. Patrcia Dick and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Wick will be remembered for his benevolence and endless generosity toward others, collecting and donating thousands of books for children of low-income families. He also raised thousands of dollars for the Flowery Branch (GA) Police Department’s Shop With A Cop program. Through his unwavering support for eight years, Wick planned and participated in an annual boxing fundraiser, sparing for 90 minutes each year with only a one-minute break every 10 minutes. He thoroughly enjoyed training for this event and fighting for the underprivileged children and families in the community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Wick’s memory be made to Heifer International, Doctors Without Borders or Habitat for Humanity. There are no calling hours. The family will hold a Celebration of Life and Remembrance at a later date.
