James Michael Fay

James Michael (Mike) Fay, age 61, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Mike was born on July 9th, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Margaret “Peggy” Furay Rozman, and Richard Victor Rozman. Growing up he lived in Kansas City, Chicago, New York, Denver, & Minneapolis. Mike was the big brother to John Francis “Jack” Fay, and his “Leetle Sister” Jonelle Marie Conom (Brian). Jonelle loved her brother “Mikey”! He enjoyed spending summers with his cousins in Iowa, his Grandparents, and Aunts Beth, Cate & Marti in Wisconsin. Mike even spent a summer in Brazil with his nanny Carmen. As an adult he lived in Greenville, SC; Sarasota, Fl; Bethlehem, PA and Atlanta, GA. Mike loved his family dearly including 2 nephews that he adored, Aidan Conom & Elijah Conom. He always made time for his nephews when they were in town. Mike loved to play video games with his nephews, along with playing card games, going to movies, eating out, and making coffee. Everyone that knew him said that he was the nicest guy they ever knew. Michael’s License Plate even said “Nice Guy”. Michael loved to listen to new music, liked to read Science Fiction, and to watch Sci-Fi & cartoons – especially the Far Side. Mike had a love for craft beer, and liked to brew his own. He loved coffee, collecting coins, and gems. He was very involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), often participating in Medieval re-creations. A lover of good jokes, Mike loved to dress up for holidays in the office. He often was the Office Holiday Party Planner. Mike graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Colorado in 1980. He then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor in Individualized Studies in 1986, after spending time at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Mike took post graduate classes at Furman University in Greenville, SC. Michael was preceded in death by both his Father Richard Rozman, his Mother Peggy Fay, his grandparents John and Elizabeth Furay, Aunt Beth Furay, Grandparents Frank and Helen Rozman and Uncle Edward Rozman. He is survived by his brother Jack Fay and sister Jonelle Conom.
