Janice Roberts Brown

It is with deep love and gratitude that we share the passing of Janice Roberts Brown, our beloved mother, who left this earth on November 15, 2024, to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and join the many loved ones who have gone before her. Janice, born December 22, 1938, in Buford, Georgia, lived a life of kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Together with her devoted husband and best friend, Rennis Brown, she dedicated her life to serving her community, which she loved dearly. Janice is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rennis, and their three children: Laurie Ayn Kezh (Susie), Amy Lynn Brown (Paige), and Christopher William Brown (Christie). She was the proud grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren; Daniel and (Olivia) Williams, Tyler and (Kayla) Williams, Perry Kezh, Andi Kezh, Seth Brown and Sophie Brown; and six adorable great-grandchildren; Noah, Levi, Grace, Mason, Adelyn and Landon. She also leaves behind her sister, JoAnn Pitts (Jim) and family, her brother, Jerry Roberts and family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members on both the Brown and Roberts sides. In 1975, Janice and her childhood best friend, Bobbie Masters, opened Jere’s Ladies Clothing Boutique in the original Buford Mall. Over the next 27 years, Janice and Bobbie not only built lasting friendships with their customers but also created jobs for many in the Buford area. In the days following her passing, we’ve received numerous messages from those who shared that Janice and Rennis quietly provided Christmas gifts for families in need for many years. This was something we did not know, as they never sought recognition for their acts of kindness, but it is a testament to the loving, giving hearts they both had. In honor of Janice’s legacy, we invite you to join us in celebrating her life on December 7, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Flanigan Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Grayson Elementary Care Team while visiting us on December 7th to help provide Christmas gifts for children in need this year at Grayson Elementary School, where Chris Brown is the principal. We know this is exactly what Mom would have wanted, and we are committed to continuing her legacy of love and giving for as long as we can. Our family also wants to thank the amazing staff at Somerby Senior Living, Southern Grace Hospice and New Day Private Home Care for their amazing care of our family in the past few weeks.
