Jason Daniel West

Jason Daniel West, age 35, of Buford, GA passed away suddenly Friday, June 9, 2017. He was born to Ron and Jodi west of Buford, GA on March 7, 1982. Jason graduated from North Gwinnett High school and went on to further his education at University of West GA studying accounting and finance. From there he transferred to Johnson and Wales in Miami Florida earning a degree in culinary arts. After graduating he moved back to his home town where he attended GA State University and earned his dual degree in hospitality management. Jason was currently working as general manager at Cowgirl kitchens Market in Seagrove Florida. In Seagrove he once again embraced his new life and shared his love with all his employees. Jason pulled them into his happy place. Jason spent his entire life surrounding himself with people from all walks of life. He was a kindred spirit and an old soul. To know him was to love him. Jason was loved by everyone who's lives he touched. He embraced the world with curiosity and adventure, never a dull moment and never on time! He found comfort in God, and music, surfing the waves, walking in the sand, snowboarding down a mountain, fishing in the deep blue sea, or backpacking it on hidden trails and camping under the stars. Jason was a Shining Light to all who knew him; the lives he touched are too many to count. He never realized how much he was loved and how much he gave because he did not know how to be anything else. His smile was infectious and his laughter and attitude were contagious. His heart overflowed with love and compassion for life and people. He loved unconditionally and looked only for the good in everyone he knew without judgement. Jason was the light of our world. We feel so blessed to have been graced by his presence for as long as we did. God wanted him now. He has been set free. We will miss you and love you until we are together again. He is survived by his mother, Joann "Jodi" West, Panama City, FL; father, Ron E. West, Panama City, FL; sister, Jessica W. Dennison and partner James Taylor, Panama City, FL; brother, Jonathan W. West, Panama City, FL; nephew, Jayden Dennison; niece, June Taylor; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
