Lolita Halfkenny

Lolita Halfkenny entered into eternal peace on January 27, 2016 in Lawrenceville, GA after a long hard battle with cancer. A beloved mother, godmother, daughter, sister, friend, caregiver and mentor to so many, her beautiful spirit will illuminate our lives forever. Lolita, affectionately called, Lola or Lo by relatives and family friends, was born to Juanita Hines Arnold of Columbus, OH and the late Berton Halfkenny on October 28, 1962 in New York, NY. Always a loving sweet person, she will be sorely missed by her family, her neighbors and her friends. Lolita leaves to cherish her memory by daughter: Dawnisha Celeste Halfkenny of Atlanta, GA; brothers: George Farrow of Fayettevelle, NC, Pierre (Anita) Halfkenny of Monroe, GA; sisters: Anita Halfkenny Arnold of Miami, FL, Zina Halfkenny of Columbus, OH, Donnita Porter of Fairmont, WV, Dineen Halfkenny of Monroe, NY, Leslye Flores of Coconut Creek, FL, Marilyn (David) Helm of Cinninnati, OH and Hasha Martin-El of Baltimore, MD; stepmother: Bernice Halfkenny of Monroe, NY; loving cousin and caregiver: Crystal Stevens; caregiver and friend: Ellie Lawrence; uncle: Chester (Janet) Hines; aunts: Wilma Reeves, Nellie Hines, Mary Hines, Helen Hines and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Eugene "Dominick" Arnold; her siblings: Genevieve "Jennifer" Bracy and Darryl Banks and her brother-in-law: Celester Porter. Lolita Halfkenny attended Fairmont Senior and North Marion High School in WV. She went on to study at Bauder College, WV Career College, and Hall Real Estate Institute. Lolita possessed a true entrepreneurial spirit, starting World Follow-Up LLC. Prior to her illness, she was business manager at RS Lighting. She held positions in Business Development at Rick Case Auto Mall and Gwinnett Place Honda. Lolita previously lived in Killeen, TX, working at Sears Automotive in Recruiting & Sales and flourished as a realtor at ERA Realty. In her spare time Lola participated in the Discipleship Program at Hopewell Church and was a Notary Public. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home 4400 South Lee Street, Buford, GA 30518 on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel following visitation.
