Monica Louise Sandoval

Monica Louise Sandoval, age 25, of Winder, GA passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Janet Askew and Margarita Gamboa; grandfathers, Carlos Gamboa and Victor Sandoval, Sr.; and uncle, Manuel Sandoval. Survived by parents Jeannie and Victor, brothers Bubba and Cody, Papa Jerry (Barbara) Askew, Grandma Chela Sandoval, Uncles Jeff (Christina) Askew, Ernesto (Laura) Gamboa, Victor Sandoval Jr, Omar (Christi) Sandoval and Aunts: Veronica S. Tyree, Sylvia (Ernie) Cortez, Lorena (Roland) Kroeger as well as many Great Aunts/Uncles, cousins and friends spread throughout the states and abroad. Monica was born on August 22, 1995 in Hinesville, GA. During her 12 years of childhood cancer, there were a number of organizations and events that were dear to her. For many years she was a participant in the 46 faces of Rally and a Rally on the Runway Model. She was the Leukemia & Lymphoma Georgia hero, Miss Southeast Relay for Life Georgia, Miss Relay for Life Hall County, CURE supporter, Beads of Courage collector, Camp Sunshine camper, Humerology Atlanta’s biggest fan, and a Songs for Kids friend just to name a few. A special group, Blue Skies Ministry allowed the family to attend beach retreats for many years at Port St. Joe, Florida and these trips were a slice of Heaven to her each time she attended. She loved hard and big. Monica was a member of Bethlehem Church where she has served in the children’s program for over ten years. She loved watching over all the little ones. Monica was a talented makeup artist, incredible artist that loved to draw and paint, as well as a talented seamstress that created from scratch many outfits for herself to wear at COSplay conventions and hospital princess events over the years. Monica has always loved being a big sister to her brothers Bubba and Cody. They shared a lot of laughs together and created many memories that will never be forgotten. Monica was loved so, so much by Jeannie and Victor and the family will never forget how I love you more than me. Monica was a member of the class of 2013 at West Hall High School. She will be surrounded by those she loved that went before her and be totally free from pain and suffering after 12 long, hard years. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Brother Jason Britt officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pall bearers include her Dad Victor Sandoval, Brothers Bubba & Cody Sandoval, Papa Jerry Askew, Uncles Ernesto Gamboa & Jeff Askew and cousin Bruno Tyree. Honorary Pallbearers are the wonderful clown friends of HA! Humorolgy Atlanta. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider donating to Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorder Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, CURE Childhood Cancer or Rally in memory Monica since all three of these organizations are making a difference in finding a cure for childhood cancer.
