Patricia Dianne Martin

Patricia Dianne Martin, lovingly known as Pat, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 77. Pat was born on July 13, 1948, to Frank and Edith Gourley. She grew up in East Atlanta, where she attended East Atlanta High School and proudly played on the varsity basketball team. Her love for the game stayed with her throughout her life and remained one of her favorite memories to share. On August 12, 1966, she married the love of her life, Raymond "Ray" Martin, Jr. Together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. Pat dedicated many years of her career to Foundation Technologies, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her dedication and hard work. Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond "Ray" Martin,Jr. and her parents, Frank and Edith Gourley. She is survived by her children, Raymond "Marty" Martin III and his wife, Beth, and Michelle "Hope" Oliver and her husband, John; her brothers, Lamar Gourley, whose wife, Merlene, preceded him in death; Bruce Gourley and his wife, Judy; and Alan Gourley and his wife, Vicky; and the family she loved beyond measure. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Cody Martin and his wife, Kari; Kaitlyn Graham and her husband, Josh; Hannah Sloan and her husband, Dustin; and John Oliver III. Nothing brought Pat more happiness than watching the family she and Ray built continue to grow through each new generation. Together, Pat and Ray were blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Brystal, Landyn, Emersyn, and Saydi Martin; Madi Graham; and Ridge and Bowman Sloan. Pat never passed up an opportunity to go antiquing, shopping, catching the latest new movie to hit the theaters, and spending time with friends and family. She also had a special fondness for baby dolls, a collection that everyone who knew her recognized as uniquely "Pat." Pat never met a stranger. She had a gift for making people feel like old friends through her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and genuinely caring heart. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and if you knew Pat, you always knew where you stood with her. She was fiercely loyal to the people she loved and found joy in celebrating their successes, encouraging them through life's challenges, and simply being there when they needed someone to talk to. Even through years of pain resulting from illness and injury, she continued to care deeply for those around her. While her family will miss her beyond words, they find comfort in knowing she is finally free from the pain and suffering she has carried for so long. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find peace in knowing Pat is with Jesus and reunited with the love of her life, Ray. Their reunion brings us comfort, knowing they are together once again. Pat's legacy is one of love, laughter, honesty, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday and will be immediately followed by the interment and graveside service at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, Georgia.
