Robert E. Elliott

With deep love and profound gratitude, we remember Robert. E. Elliott who passed away at the age of 90 on May 23, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of God, Robert’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering faith. Originally a 62-year resident of Buford, Georgia, Robert later made his home in Richmond Hill, Georgia, alongside his beloved wife, Carol Ware Elliott, who survives him. He proudly served two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps, embodying strength, integrity, and commitment – qualities that defined his life. Robert deeply cherished his family, taking immense joy in their achievements. His pride in his children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and his love for them knew no bounds. In 1972, upon moving to Buford, Robert recognized the need for a closer place of worship and took a pivotal role in establishing a Church of Christ in the community. His home became a sacred gathering space for worship from December 1, 1974 to February 1978, before transitioning to a permanent home on six acres, with the generous support of the Moulton Church of Christ in Alabama. His unwavering dedication helped the Buford Church of Christ flourish into a thriving congregation of over 400 members – a lasting testament to his faith and leadership. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edna LaValle and Grady Elliott; his brother, Billy LaValle; and his son, Robert Elliott, Jr. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Carol Ware Elliott, his siblings James Elliott, Wendell Elliott, and Carolyn Boettcher, as well as his cherished children: Regina Elliott Walker (Tripp Walker) and Russell Elliott (Alicia Elliott); grandchildren, Paul Jackson (Maggie), Elena Jackson (Matt), Ethan Elliott (Ally), Amelia Elliott; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Bethany, Will, Wyatt, Mia, and Colton. A dedicated, longtime member of the Buford Church of Christ, Robert’s faith, leadership, and kindness touched countless lives. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Agape or Camp Inagehi, honoring his lifelong commitment to faith and community. A Service will be held at Buford Church of Christ on May 29, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private graveside service for the family will be conducted at White Chapel on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, Georgia.
