Ronnie A Thomas

Ronnie Augustus Thomas, our dearly loved father and precious light to this world, passed peacefully with a smile on his face, January 6, 2024. Ronnie passed with Tammy, Aurora, Caleb and her boys by his side at the age of 79. Ronnie was born and raised in Port St. Joe, Florida before moving to Georgia at age 19. He was a devoted husband to Joy of 55 years and father to Tammy, Baby Girl Thomas (deceased), Rusty and Kaye. He was an extraordinary Paw-Paw and friend to Jessica, Hannah, Emily J., Bryan, Sean-Mike, Heather, Finnegan, Emily H.,and Madison. He was a Great Paw-Paw to Heath, Ansley and Ellie. Dad is best described by his granddaughter, Hannah as, “the kindest, most pure soul anyone has ever known!” Ronnie’s sister Linda describes him as, “He was your precious father and our brother but most of all a great humanitarian, kind and gentle and shall I say, funny!” He was all of these things. He was a man who knew how to make everyone feel welcomed as a joke teller, gift giver and smile maker- that never met a stranger. His humor and kind spirit made him a friend to all. His granddaughter Jessica and grandson Caleb Jr reflect that they have lost a great friend in this world. Ronnie remained dedicated and faithful to his belief in God and our Lord Jesus Christ. He devoted much of his time and heart to help others through charity with church and followed his heart in helping anyone in need. He volunteered at nursing homes teaching bible school in his retirement. Ronnie retired from iron working and knew the meaning of hard work and dedication. Joy and Ronnie enjoyed a life full of adventure, love, and laughter with family and friends. Gone but never forgotten... Predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joyce Fewox Thomas, his daughter, Baby Girl Thomas, and his parents Valene and Augustus Thomas.
