Tanya Picault

Tanya Picault passed away on March 9, 2024 at age 36. She was born on April 28, 1987 in Queens, New York to Laila Jacqueline Douze. Tanya was a graduate of South Cobb High School and received a degree in accounting from Strayer University. On September 26, 2002, Tanya gave birth to her first child, daughter Ayania St Preux, who is 21 years old. On August 28, 2008, she had her first son Andrew Armbrister who is 15, and on August 14 2009, she gave birth to her second son Anthony Armbrister who is 14. On August 25, 2017, Tanya had her third son, Maleek Picault, who is 6 years old. Over the years, Tanya cultivated a career in human resources, and organizational and administrative systems. In all her positions over the course of her career, Tanya was beloved and cherished by her coworkers and she loved them as well. Tanya appreciated the simple things in life and she always went with the flow. She loved to be outside. She loved flowers, and going to the park. Being one with nature brought her joy. She loved all earthly and natural things. Her favorite colors were green and purple. Tanya enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She loved to dance and she loved music. She specifically enjoyed jazz, encouraged her sons to play in the band, and loved to listen to Kenny G over a glass of red, tart wine and a charcuterie board. She was adventurous in the kitchen and was always ready to try new meals, especially if potatoes were involved. She also really loved oysters. Tanya’s laughter was contagious and she was a jokester. She was intelligent, generous, and hilarious. She wasn’t just a mother to her children, she was also a mother to their friends and to her loved ones. If you were at Tanya’s house you knew there was going to be laughter, and there was never a dull moment around her and her kids. They would always be cuddling, laughing, joking, playing, listening to music and taking pictures. Tanya was a beautiful soul, a loving, kind, and caring individual whose smile lit up a room. She had so much charm and charisma that people gravitated to her and fell in love with her as soon as they met her. Tanya always said that her children were her biggest and greatest accomplishment. She was independent and strong-willed, and her family was her compass. Tanya was also everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She would never let you tell yourself something couldn’t happen. Tanya was the kind of person who would take the shirt off of her back to help anyone. Tanya was preceded in death by her brother Patrick St Preux. She is survived by her mother, Jackie, and her children Ayania, Andrew, Anthony, and Maleek. Services will be held at Sugar Hill Church in Sugar Hill, Georgia on Saturday, April 6 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a GoFundMe created to support Tanya’s children or made directly to Ayania.
