Weldon O. German

Weldon German, age 80, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Braselton, GA. Born on May 6, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, Weldon lived a life defined by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a deep and abiding faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. German and Helen Lucille German (née Lewis). Weldon is survived by his loving wife Lynne German (née Naegele) of Braselton, GA; their daughter Kirsten Robinson of Santa Monica, CA, her husband Buck, and granddaughter Lucy (12); and their son Charles German of Buford, GA, his wife Hanna, and grandson Wyatt (13). He is also survived by his daughter Shelbie Wiley and her husband Skip (Olathe, KS); grandson Austin Ashe, Austin’s wife Audra and great-granddaughters Sophia (3) and Elyse (1) (Defiance, OH); and grandson Bradon Ashe, Brandon’s wife Paige and great-grandchildren Charlie (4), Olivia (3) and AdaLynn (10 mos.) (Andover, KS). A proud Navy and Vietnam veteran, Weldon held a deep love for his country. After leaving the Navy, he went on to serve as a Ride Captain with the Patriot Guard Riders, continuing his dedication to support veterans and their families. Throughout his life, Weldon embraced the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed billiards, golf, and tennis. As a youth he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Boy Scout troop 285. He graduated from Raytown High School and was a member of the varsity football team. He attended Drury College and University of Missouri. Weldon also loved racing. He was an active member of the RC car racing community for over three decades where he and his son Charlie raced all over the country. After RC car racing, he was the crew chief for Bobby Keys in numerous classes of late model racing. Racing was a passion and an outlet for Weldon that he truly enjoyed. Above all, Weldon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He rarely missed a game, event, or milestone and cherished his children and grandchildren deeply. Nothing shined brighter than Weldon’s smile while watching his kids and grandkids compete. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia. Celebration of life and burial details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers or the Patriot Guard Riders.
