Bobbie Lee Hudgins Masters

August 22, 1937 - September 18, 2020

Bobbie Lee Hudgins Masters, August 22nd, 1937 – September 18th, 2020 Mrs. Bobbie Lee Hudgins Masters was born on August 22nd, 1937 to Lee and Mae Hudgins. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry Masters, on November 4th, 1955. They were married for 54 years before he preceded her in death in 2010. She was a loving mother to Susan (Mike) Peevy and Kent Masters. She was affectionately known as Grandmother to Amber (Charlie) Timms, Brandon (Christy) Peevy, and Jake Masters. She later earned the title of Gigi to her great-grand-children Riley, Haley, and Rachael Smith, Wyatt, Maddie, Ruthie, and Titus Timms, Kennedy, Reagan, and Hayes Peevy. One of her fondest titles was being the sister of Mary June (Donald) Edwards who she was often found together with sharing in their passions of estate sales, church activities, and family events. She also enjoyed the company of her sister in law Nell Turk. She is survived by a loving family of nieces, nephews, and all those who loved her in the community. Bobbie grew up in the Ivy Creek community where she graduated from Dacula High School. She and Jerry settled in the Buford area where they went to church, raised their family, and later opened up the dress shop known as Jere’s. She was passionate about hosting friends and family, cooking for those she loved, and attending to the needs of others. She was a faithful member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church where she served in many ministry areas. Bobbie adored her church family and served them well. She was often seen on her back porch reading her daily devotionals and Bible and taught the love of Jesus to hundreds of children through Vacation Bible School and Children’s Church. She will be missed as an anchor to her family and community that she loved so well. A private visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. until the time of service. A private funeral service for family only will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 with remains placed in state at 2:30 p.m. at Ivey Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Craig Dale and Rev. Ted Williams officiating. A private family graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Ivy Creek Church building fund. Mask required for service.
