Linda Rae Kaper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Rae Kaper, a resident of Suwanee, Georgia and formerly of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully Monday, August 23, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 74 years old. Linda was born on March 9, 1947, in Youngwood, Pennsylvania where she grew up. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Although she would beg to differ, she was a remarkable cook, decorator, and crafter. She loved to watch HGTV and the Food Network during her spare time to get ideas. She loved the beach, hanging out with her neighbors, loving on her dogs, and shopping at TJ Maxx or Home Goods. Linda worked various jobs throughout her life most notably with Kroger grocery store for 14 years. This part time job quickly became a full-time position moving her up through the ranks because of her work ethic. She just loved helping others and doing the best job she could. She had an ease for picking up conversations with strangers even though she was extremely shy in her youth. Linda died from Metastatic Breast Cancer. Her positive attitude, great sense of humor, and determination, along with the love of family and friends, carried her through eight years of treatment. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Popovich; father, Ray Rutter; mother, Gail Rutter; and brother, Gary Rutter. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leonard Kaper; daughter, Wendy Steiner and her partner Joey Brown; and granddaughter, Karli Burgess and her husband Michael Burgess, as well as Linda’s beloved dogs, Duffy and Charlie. Linda requested no funeral service. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. The family would like to give their greatest and warmest thanks and gratitude to Agave hospice care and Golden Home Services for the assistance they provided the family the last few weeks of her life.
