Mary Hellen Burdett, 94 years old of Dacula, GA, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, of natural causes. Mary Hellen was born on July 24, 1926, in Atlanta, GA and resided in the Atlanta area the remainder of her life. Mary Hellen was preceded by a loving husband of 46 years, Charles Richard Burdett. She was also preceded by her daughter, Phyllis Sigman, and her granddaughter, Angie Wilson, as well as five of her siblings: Gene Wise, Floyd Wise, Bob Wise, Wyolene Richardson, and Meriam Wood. Mary Hellen is survived by loving children: Floyd Burdett, Dennis Burdett, and Glenda Huff. She is known as “Nanny” to her eight grandchildren: Ricky Sigman, Barbie Sigman, Christin Diller, Robby Burdett, Ashley Burdett, Blake Burdett, Nick Huff, Mallory Reichard along with her four great-grandchildren: Myranda Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Savannah Stanley, Adelyn Diller. She is also survived by two sons-in-law: Eddy Sigman, Gary Huff, and brother, Calvin Wise. Mary Hellen was a strong, caring, faithful woman. She dedicated her life selflessly to her church, Savior, family and friends. She worked at Southern Railway for 43 years, many of those side by side with her husband. As a loving wife, mother, and grandmother she was the caretaker and Rock for her family through many of life’s challenges by strength, prayers, support, and physical presence. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and will always be loved and remembered as “Nanny” Memorial service will be held at Avondale First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:30 am.
