Percy C. Cannon, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Percy C. Cannon, Jr., age 86, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Cannon, Sr. and Effie Cannon; infants, George and Lucy Cannon; sister, Mildred Coley; and brother, J. W. Cannon. He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Eula Copeland Cannon, Sugar Hill, GA; children, Janice and Myles Bolick, Acworth, GA, Jeanette and Cass Petros, Indianapolis, IN, Robert and Connie Poteete, Winder, GA and Frances and John Watson, Canton, GA; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Ruth McDonald, Norcross, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Connie Cannon, St. Augustine, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Cannon was born November 16, 1930 in Clayton, GA. He was a graduate of Lakemont High School in Lakemont, GA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force with twelve years of service having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Western Electric in Atlanta after twenty-nine years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rest Haven in Rest Haven, GA and a member of Lakemont Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Landy McDaniel officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Wiley Cemetery in Wiley, GA with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
