Raymond Daniel Gravitt

April 8, 1951 - November 12, 2021

Raymond Daniel Gravitt, age 70, passed away on November 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy Gravitt, brothers Jerry and Bobby, and infant sister Helen. Mr. Gravitt is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ouida Gravitt; son, Russell Gravitt (Stacy); daughter, Erin Davis (Maj. Anthony Davis, USMC); granddaughter, Madison Davis; grandson, Jackson Davis; brothers, Ricky, Michael, Barry and Marty Gravitt; sister, Anita Gravitt; several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. Mr. Gravitt was born on April 8, 1951. He worked as a carpenter for 47 years, helping construct the MARTA station in downtown Atlanta and he helped rebuild the Riveria Hyatt House. Mr. Gravitt also worked on St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens and various and numerous other buildings in an around Atlanta. He loved to bowl, was always in a bowling league, and also loved to shoot pool. Mr. Gravitt was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Buford. He was loved and cherished since 6th grade at Sugar Hill Elementary in 1964 by his wife Ouida Payne Gravitt. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Landy McDaniel officiating.
