Richard "Dick" Speakman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard “Dick” Speakman, age 78, of Hoschton, GA, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Dick was a devoted husband of 56 years to Irene G Speakman formerly of Langeloth, Pennsylvania and a loving father to his children Richard Speakman, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Lisa Speakman of Blue Ridge, Georgia. He served his country for over 37 years in the Air Force as both an enlisted Service Member and then as a Civilian for the Department of Defense where he retired as the Director of the Air Force Engineering and Technical Services Worldwide (AFETS). He received the Outstanding Civilian Career Services Award for 37 years of dedicated Federal Service. He had a BS of Business Management from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Golden Gate University. He was predeceased by his father Robert Speakman, mother Hazel (Polly) Polick and sister Nan Speakman. He is survived by his wife Irene, son Richard, daughter Lisa and his brothers and sister Tom Speakman, Hank Speakman Bill Speakman and Kathy Pettitt. A private immediate family service will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia on June 16, 2022 followed by an interment at Georgia National Cemetery.
