Wendell T. Maddox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wendell T. Maddox, age 80, of Kennesaw, GA, formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Donnis McDaniel Maddox; parents, J. C. and Willene Maddox; son-in-law, Neal Gaddis; sister, Juanita Maddox; and nephew, Geoff Maddox. Mr. Maddox is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Maddox Gaddis of Dallas, GA, and Tanya (Daniel) Kuster of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Daniel and Mary Hannah Gaddis of Marietta, GA, Kelley and Brett Barger of Dahlonega, GA; great grandchildren, Jonah David Gaddis, Abel McDaniel Gaddis, Ariel Fiona Barger; sister, Allene (Frank) Ruffner of Elberton, GA; brothers, Arlon and Linda Maddox of Helen, GA and Gary and Donna Maddox of Loudon, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Maddox was born on March 15, 1941 in Buford, GA. He received his education at Buford High School and later received his GED. Mr. Maddox was retired from Ford Motor Company after thirty years of service. After retiring, he and Donnis spent many years traveling with their Good Sam Club, Foothills RV Chapter, and their Carriage Group, Dixie Travelers. They also enjoyed doing seasonal part-time work at Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Mr. Maddox was a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at the funeral home, and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
