Decator Dunagan

Marion "Decator" Dunagan, Sr., age 71, of Acworth, GA died Saturday, May 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. Decator was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia to Lois and Robert Dunagan. He graduated from Central Gwinnett High School in 1963. Decator began a career in the printing ink business and went on to open National Printing Ink Company. After retiring from the printing ink business, Decator worked for Brandi's World Famous Hotdogs in Cartersville. Decator always had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He cared so much about those he met and was very genuine in all relationships he built over the years. Decator "The Chief" loved riding his Harley, especially his long trips with his dear friend Bill Russell. Riding the Harley was his Heaven on Earth. Decator loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Decator was preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Dunagan, and sister, Ruth Dunagan Wood. He is survived by his five children, Marion "Decator" Dunagan, Jr. (Rachel), Wendy Dunagan Collins (Rocky), J. Dane Dunagan, Kalley Dunagan Blalock (Arlin), and Tenise Dunagan Newberg (Eric). Eight grandchildren, Ella and Nick Collins, Decator III, Katherine and Wyatt Dunagan, Hudson Blalock, Jake and Alex Newberg; his sister, Norma Dunagan Huff; brother-in-law, Harry Wood; sister-in-law, Harriett Dunagan; and numerous nephews and nieces. Decator will be missed by many faithful and loving friends. The family of Decator Dunagan will be honoring and celebrating his life twice this weekend. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Flanigan Funeral Home, 4400 South Lee Street, Buford, GA 30518. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by services at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Harry Wood officiating.
