Jeremy Roy Davis

Mr. Jeremy Roy Davis, age 34, of Chicago, IL and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, W. E. and Alma Sears; maternal uncle, Verlon Southerland; maternal great aunt, Irma Roberts; and maternal cousin, W. E. "Wes" Sears. He is survived by his parents, Tommy Roy and Lynne Sears Davis, Dacula, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Paula Davis Bennett and Ron Bennett, Jr., Buford, GA; nieces, Audrey Bennett, Buford, GA and Ruth Bennett, Buford, GA; nephew, Tripp Bennett, Buford, GA; paternal grandparents, Jimmy Davis, Sr. and Edna Davis, Buford, GA; paternal aunts and uncles, Jimmy L. and Sue Davis, Bobby Ray Davis, Marty and Joy Davis, Ricky and Susan Davis Marshall, all of Buford, GA, Larry and Annette Davis, Carnesville, GA, and Wesley Davis, Buford, GA; maternal aunts and uncles, Sue S. Southerland, Elinor and Herbie Wilson and W. E. "Bud" and Beverly Sears, all of Buford, GA; many cousins and friends; and partner, Mario Sullivan, Chicago, IL. Mr. Davis was born May 17, 1977. He was a 1995 graduate and valedictorian of Buford High School and a 1999 First Honor Graduate of The Goizueta Business School of Emory University. He was Senior Director of Financial Planning for The Apollo Group, Inc. of Chicago, IL and Phoenix, AZ. Jeremy was beloved by hundreds of friends and colleagues in Chicago and added very much love to each of their lives. A viewing was held for them on May 3, 2012 at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago, IL. Jeremy is lovingly remembered by his friends and colleagues for his kind and gentle nature and fun-loving attitude. He is treasured by his friends and family in Buford as well as remembered for his generosity, loyalty and love for all people. His extensive family and friends embrace the precious memories of him and how he has touched their lives. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Buford. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
