Jill M. Foist Swart

Jill M Foist Swart, passed away on 10/26/14, one day before her 54th Birthday, after a heroic fight with cancer at home, in the care of Homestead Hospice. She is survived by her Husband of 27 years, Matthew J. Swart, daughters Samantha Rachel Foist Swart and Ashely Marita Foist Swart, Sisters: Sheryl Foist and Sue (Dan) Shipman, Brothers-in-law: Dirk F (Kathleen) Swart, and Garret M (Tammy); Nieces: Ann (Kevin) Burnett, Stephanie Swart and Alexandra Tillotson; Nephews: William (Rebecca) Sinkey, Michael Shipman, Aaron Swart, Andrew Swart, Jonathan Swart; Great Nieces: Ansley Swart and Ella Burnett; numerous cousins, extended family and close friends. She is predeceased by her parents Charles W. and Janet (Warner) Foist and her In-laws Garret and Patricia Swart (Lee) and her Nephew Adam Swart. Native of Sylvania, OH, Mrs. Swart attended Northview High School, and the University of Toledo (nursing), and graduating from Mercy College of Detroit with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and a Little Sister of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. She worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, OH, Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, OH, Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, GA and most recently in the Occupational Health Department at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Jill was a supportive, selfless, loving and caring soul. She was a positive role model to anyone she came into contact with, especially her two daughters. Jill was a consummate health care provider who was passionate about helping and educating her patients, and an avid environmentalist. She was very fond of outdoor activities including gardening, hiking, water and snow skiing and she often brought home a stray dog/cat or two. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the March of Dimes, The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, or to your favorite charity. No viewing is planned; however, there will be a "Celebration of Life" Ceremony officiated by her dear friend Rebecca Alford on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Richland Clubhouse, 2074 Quinton Place, Suwanee, GA 30024. Family will receive visitors beginning at 12:00 noon and the ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm.
