Larry G. Roberts

Hard working, simple, loving family man, Larry G. Roberts of Norcross GA, age 84, peacefully departed this earth at Northside Duluth Hospital and made his final journey home to Jesus and his Momma on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. He was the last of the nine children of Harvey Wilson Roberts, Sr. and Edna Pearl Williams Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph (Joe) Roberts and his eight siblings. He is survived by his wife of 53 years / his angel; Judy Slone, his children Jeff Roberts (Gainesville GA), Tonja Roberts Slone (Buford GA), (husband Kirby Slone), Kimberly "Kippy" Slone (Henderson, TN) (husband Clay McFarland), and Kevin "Chad" Roberts (Oakwood GA), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and many cherished friends and acquaintances. Larry was a proud Master Plumber who began his career at the age of 13. He was a fantastic all-around Mr. Fixit, using his great ingenuity to fix anything. He was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and liked watching baseball on tv, he could recite all the statistics for his favorite team as well as their opponents. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races on tv every chance he got. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and fishing with family and friends. He and Judy were on a bowling league and won many trophies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends frequently treating everyone to dinner at his favorite restaurants. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him. He was a CHAMP to his family never giving up the fight until the end only surrendering to the Loving Arms of Jesus and his Momma. Our hearts are broken missing him who is so dear, waiting until it's our turn one day to once again hold him near in warm embrace and gaze upon his smiling face. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Atlanta/Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 31 from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
